  • {name withheld}...I personally do not think that I am a hard person to talk to.  I had called in mainly to start the process to adopt a boy named Wesley.  I had seen through Fox2 The  Heart Gallery.  When I started the conversation instantly {name withheld} became irritated and abrupt.  I called there because my county has not answered the phone or returned a message.  So I thaught I would try Berrien since the boy is out of that county.  I was not sure what location would be best.  She had rudely stated "They are short staffed and there is No way they would come this far."  When I inquired about the boy what was written on  the bio that he is a sibling and that they would prefer they be adopted together.  She was abrupt again and said" He is not available."  I said" Wesley?"  She said" No his brother."  I said "The notes said it was updated in January." She rudly again said. " I don't know what to tell you I don't know when that was written but He is not available for about a year now."  I said "I can tell you don't want to talk to me but does that mean Wesley has been in the system for a year?"  She was so aggrevated by me I could'nt believe it.  I like to treat people how I like to be treated.  My deep concern is how does she treat these children.  Even if she could'nt help me she could have spoke calmly and polite.  Maybe gave some helpful comment like.  I am sorry mame we are short staffed and It would probably be better If you went to a agency in you area.  Something... I did'nt know at that point what area by law I am supposed to deal with.  Now I realize by the time the process is complete he may be adopted.  For him I hope that is true, for me I would love to have him in my life, He is beautiful.  He has some resemblance to my family.  His ears, his chin and forhead are like my partner and my 3 year old.  His eyes and cheeks are kind of like mine.  He looks so curious and I honestly feel/believe I am the Mom for him.  I have tried to look at other children with an open mind but I feel a connection just by his picture, if that is possible.  I want to be his mom.

  • The lack of.  The only agency that has been helpful so far are the ones that need a greater fee.  I am not made of money but I have the Love.  I feel a great urgency and would like some help if possible.  Ms. Julia Jett with MARE has been the only assistance and has given me respect.  I appreciate her dearly.  Thank you

Additional comments:

  • No other children seriously stuck out for me.  I am open minded.  He has grabbed my heart.  I seriously pray this works out.  That is all I can really hope for.  We are in the process of buying a house prefer about 2 acres. I would like to complete that soon. I am tired of shopping.  The fee involved with adoption concern me.  I am not rich just in love.  I would rather spend income tax on bedroom items and close and toys for Wesley than fees.  If we adopted I may need some financial assistance at times.  My plan is to finish College within a couple years as a Radiology Technician-ultrsounds-echograms ect.  I won't need any assistance then.  I started College and was on the Dean's list at Baker out of Clinton Twp. I am going back as soon as {name withheld} is in  School.  Day care wants $135.  Part time $190. full time.  I don't trust people.I feel this is a good time for me to adopt based on the fact I am home full time right now.  I could provide enough time to help Wesley adjust.  When {name withheld} goes to school That is when I will go back.  My partner {name withheld} has just been called back to work.  So our finances will pick up.  He makes about $25.00 and hour. as a heavy equiptment operater.  He is just concerned about the stability of our economy. I know we would never let him starve, nor hurt him.  We are not perfect but would for sure love him unconditional.  I realize I am talking to maybe the wrong people about my feelings.  I just I hope I can connect to the right people by doing so.  Thank you for you time.
