Additional comments:

  • We understand that the system is very overworked and staff is probably underpaid. However, in order to attract college educated, middle class families, there has to be some measure of interacting in a professional manner. Letting weeks go by with little or no communication, no status update, no information on where you are in the process, does not encourage intelligent people to participate. We lost our only daughter 10 years ago, but we always wanted a daughter and have a five bedroom home and lots of love to offer. We had no idea where we were in the process, or what the delays were, so we discontinued with the agency after six months because we had been told the process would take 3 to 6 months. Afterward, the caseworker told us we were almost done with the process, something that had never been communicated during the process.
