Comments:

  • Took a long time to finish the home study. Once finished the case worker left for vacation. When we came in to pick up the home study it was not done correctly and another case worker had to correct it for us.
  • Agency is very slow in following up on what they have said they would do.  We turned in our homestudy application in August and there was no response until November.  We are still waiting for our caseworker to follow up on our last visit and to send us paperwork.
  • Our homestudy packet set on someones desk for 2 months before being contacted by our current case worker.  Now we have not heard from her to know if the study is complete.  We attempted to get a copy of the study 3 weeks ago and found out it was not completed.  We did not hear this from the case worker as she was out of town.  3 weeks later still no word as  to what is going on.
Was the information you received thorough and complete?

Comments:

  • To have a list of steps required of you and a very clear guide as to what you should and can expect from the agency.
  • To know if our homestudy has been approved.  To know if the study is complete before things expire.  To know if the agency is going to be able to work with us or if we need to try someplace different.
Were you satisfied with the services the agency provided to you?

Comments:

  • Working as hard as I could to be matched with a child and not having the help I expected and needed to succeed. Tried to change case workers, but was left unaided.
  • I'm partial to this at this point
  • Lack of communication from the case worker.  It is now May 30th and we still have yet to hear if our homestudy is completed, if it will be completed, if the agency will be able to work with us.
Were there barriers to your ability to become a foster or adoptive parent?
