  • Adoption worker {name withheld} was Never available and very hesitent about letting or wanting us to adopt our son. At the time we had been lic foster parents for 9 years

  • To be sent all necessary information and paperwork to start the adoption process - In a timely mannor - complete packets etc would have been great

  • There was no sense of urgency - she could care less, I spent several hundreds of dollars overnighting paperwork, driving to Jackson to hand deliver paperwork, and coutless phone calls to the adoption worker, she kept saying she was so busy with other cases, it was so horris Im sure any other family would have thrown in the towel with all the frustration :(

Additional comments:

  • There are so many children especially teenagers who would love to be adopted. Our son was 16 when his adoption was final.  As I stated earlier there is no sense of urgency with the agencies.  I would love to attend a forum where DHS etc adoption workers could here my story and the level of frustration that was associated with something so simple as adopting a child out of foster care. Most families would have given up :( - But I promised {name withheld} he would be my son :)
