Comments:

  • The agency was prompt as far as getting me into PRIDE, and was more then excited to have me volunteer with the children. I finished PRIDE and the agency sets up the expectation that a worker will be in contact with in 2 weeks to schedule a home study. I continued to follow up with no return calls. I even left messages to get medical forms since I had a physical scheduled and knew forms were part of the process. I finally talked to someone in adoption and she said to just go through the foster workers for the home study transferred me back and still 4 months later no one has returned a call
  • We have had a homestudy done.  We have inquired about several children and we never get any kind of feed back from Spaulding for children.
Was the information you received thorough and complete?

  • It would be nice to get some correspondence or for them to return our phone calls.

Comments:

  • The agency did not provide any services because they chose to not assist me with the adoption process.
  • I have sent letters and left several message's for {name withheld} who is suppose to be the supervisor and she never responds and never calls me back. If they treat all of their prospective adoptive parents this way - no wonder there are so many children that are waiting to be adopted.  WE ARE VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!  We were going to switch to a different agency but we have to go through the whole process all over again and we have done our part.
Do you feel any of the following were barriers to your ability to become a foster or adoptive parent?

Additional comments:

  • I am now going with another agency that has been responsive, returns phone calls and emails the same day. Due to Spaulding not following up it has put my process behind by 3 months. I would never recommend this agency to anyone. I attended one of their foster parent trainings and it wasn't a training session, it was a bunch of people together complaining. It is important to me that a child is placed during the summer so they can adjust prior to starting in a new school.
  • I WOULD LIKE INFORMATION FOR ADOPTION AGENCY THAT I CAN CALL TO ADOPT ANOTHER CHILD. I BEENING TRYING WITH THE SAME AGENCY I DID THE FIRST ONE BUT THEY HAVEN HELPED ME AT ALL. I HAVE COMPLETED A HOME STUDY WITH SPAUDLING FOR CHILDREN. THEY NOT TRYING TO WORK WITH ME  THEY DONT RETURN MY CALL. I GAVE THEM NAME OF CHILDREN AND I BEING LOOKING FOR A CHILD BUT HAVE HAD ANYONE TO HELP ME ADOPT AGAIN. AND I WANT TO KNOW IF I NEED TO DO ANOTHER HOME STUDY AGAIN OR WHAT.
  • We are very disatisfied with the way Spaulding for Children has handled things.  We have submitted several requests for children that we are interested in and we have never gotten any response back.  Just before Christmas a {name withheld} called to see what our status was and I told her that I had left several messages for {name withheld} and sent her some correspondence and that {name withheld} has never responded back to me.  She then transfered me to {name withheld}'s voice mail and I have yet to her from her.We checked into going with another agency but they told us that we would have to have the home study process done all over again, which seems like a waist of time, when we are approved to adopt and have submitted names of children from the MARE and also from other states. If this is the way Spaulding does business then they have lost people who are very much into adopting and becoming parents again.
