Introducing Destiny and Aalayh!

About Destiny and Aalayh:

Destiny is a friendly and reserved young girl. She loves her siblings and enjoys spending time with them. Destiny likes being outside riding her bike. She enjoys having stories read to her and playing with her dolls. Destiny is a friendly and bright child around others. She loves animals and would like to be either a veterinarian or a teacher when she grows up. Destiny enjoys getting her hair done and likes to please others. Aalayh is a friendly and affectionate young girl. She enjoys being a “girly girl” and having her nails painted. Like her sister Destiny, Aalayh loves riding her bike and having stories read to her. She does best with a lot of one on one attention. Aalayh is a very active little girl that likes playing make believe for fun. She enjoys school and has many friends. Aalayh says that she is funny and likes to make others laugh. Recently she has shown an interest in music and is learning more about it.

Destiny does best with a lot of individual attention as she has experienced a very turbulent past. When she becomes upset she can begin to act younger than her age. At school, Destiny is friendly with her peers but can let her emotions get the best of her and can cause her to not participate actively in class or with her peers. However, this has improved in her current placement. She has been making some progress when deciphering when she needs space and time to manage her emotions. Destiny benefits from patience and understanding that her past effects how she is able to express her feelings. Aalayh has also overcome a difficult past. She is learning how to appropriately address her feelings through positive means. Aalayh is working on developing proper peer relationships and respecting others personal space. At this time, she is too young to fully understand her adoption plan and may need a period of time to transition into a new adoptive home. Aalayh has improved in many areas this past year because she was given much support and stability, but still would benefit from attention and guidance in other areas.

Destiny and Aalayh are in need of an adoptive family who will be able to adopt them together. The adoptive family should have experience or knowledge of raising children who have come from a tumultuous past and can have difficulty properly expressing their feelings, as a result. The girls must be the youngest children in the home. The girls would benefit from a family who can offer then a lot of individualized attention and supervision as well as their own rooms in the home so the girls have their own space. The adoptive family must be willing to advocate for any support services and encourage therapeutic services that would be beneficial to the girls’ emotional and educational needs.
