Event date: 3/6/2015 4:30 AM - 7:30 AM Export event

Location: Wayne County Community College - Downriver Campus, Ray Mix Room, 21000 Northline Rd., Taylor, MI 48180

DetailsMichigan Alliance-PTI in Wayne County is offering a free workshop, hosted by Clare Brick on March 6, 2015 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at WCCC Downriver Campus, Ray Mix Room, 21000 Northline Road, Taylor, MI.  Sign-in opens at 9:00 am.

This workshop will introduce Positive Behavior Supports (PBS). Many children have behaviors that are part of their disability. These behaviors may make it difficult to learn, cause harm, or isolate a child from his or her peers. It is important for parents to understand that behavior is communication.

We will explain what a Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) is, and how a FBA leads to the development of a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that utilizes Positive Behavior Supports.

Who should attend: families of children/young adults with disabilities or learning difficulties, professionals, service providers, caregivers, school staff.
